Brazil

General information

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Federative Republic of Brazil were established on February 17, 1992.

The Consulate General of Armenia started to operate in San Paolo in March of 1998.

The Brazilian Embassy was opened in Yerevan in August of 2006.

On June 15, 2010 Mr. Ashot Yeghiazarian was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Brazil.

The embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Federative Republic of Brazil was established in 2011.

City Parliament of Campinas of the FRB has signed a resolution on recognizing Armenian Genocide on November 20, 2011.

In March 2011, the Government of Brazil provided goods and equipment equivalent to USD 100,000, to eliminate consequences of ecological disaster in Nubarashen district.

On 10 November 2014, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Armenia to Brazil Ashot Galoyan presented his credentials to the President of Brazil.
