On February 4, the regular session of the interdepartmental commission coordinating measures aimed at preventing the spread of a new type of Coronavirus in Armenia was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.

Tigran Avinyan noted that during the session it is planned to discuss the current situation concerning the new coronavirus, already implemented preventive measures and the problems faced by the citizens of Armenia who wish to return from China to Armenia, as well as to touch upon the further steps.

Foreign Minister Zohrab Mntaskanyan presented the general situation, cooperation with international partners, twenty-four-hour service of the Embassy in China to support the citizens of Armenia.

Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan presented the implemented preventive measures, as well as the steps to be taken for the public awareness-raising. He also noted that it is expected to receive another 200 diagnostic tests from the World Health Organization.

It was instructed to examine the possible ways of assisting the citizens of Armenia in China in the shortest terms.
