Argentina
General information
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and Argentine Republic were established on January 17, 1992.
The Embassy of Armenia in Buenos Aires was opened in 1993.
The Embassy of Argentina in Yerevan was opened in 2009.
On October 20, 2020 Juan Carlos Merdinian was appointed Honorary Consul of Armenia in Cordoba city.
On January 19, 2022 Hector Murad Yousoufian was appointed Honorary Consul of Armenia in Rosario city.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Argentine Republic Hovhannes Virabyan presented his credentials to the President of Argentine Republic Alberto Fernandez on January 25, 2022.
On April 30, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Republic of Armenia Rafael Enrique González Alemán, presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Argentina recognized the Armenian Genocide by law in 2007.
