Malta Malta

General information

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Malta were established on 27 May 1993.

On April 8, 2022, Tsovinar Hambardzumyan was appointed ambassador to Malta (residence in Rome).

On June 19, 2024, Giovanni Miceli, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malta to Armenia (residence in Valetta) presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

On 18 December 2008, Artur Aleksanyan was appointed Honorary Consul of Malta in Armenia (residence in Yerevan).

Legal Framework

  • Exchange of Notes between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Malta to establish diplomatic relations.
  • Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Malta on cooperation in the field of culture.
  • Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malta on the establishment of bilateral political consultations.
  • Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Malta for the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance.
  • Memorandum of Understanding between the Aeronautical Authorities of the Republic of Armenia and of the Republic of Malta.
