Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan’s answer to the question of the "Arminfo" news agency

13 December, 2011

Question: Mr. Kocharyan, how would you comment the reaction of the Minister for European Union Affairs of Turkey that no one can make Turkey bow in response to the statement of President Serzh Sargsyan, saying that "Turkey, considering itself a European country, will sooner or later have a leadership characteristic to a a European state, which will bow before the Tsithernakaberd Memorial”?

Answer: Such a reaction, especially by an official responsible for the integration with the EU, is an evidence to the painful reality that the current day Turkey still does not have a leadership typical to a European country, and some Turkish officials are not the bearers of European values, but remain heirs to the hateful mentality of the Ottoman Empire.
