We welcome the fact that the Minsk Group Co-Chairs at the level of their leaders reacted to the use of force in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone by way of strong condemnation.

The military-political leadership of Azerbaijan and Turkey bears entire responsibility for further escalation of the conflict.

We strongly condemn Turkey’s provocative actions and demand the immediate withdrawal of the Turkish armed forces, including the air force from the conflict zone.

We will continue to engage firmly with all our partners to de-escalate and to exclude the external actors from this region and to stop them from these destabilizing actions they have been taking.  

BBC: Minister, I ask you to respond to the Azeri accusation that it was Armenia’s actions that sparked this conflict. 

On September 29, the session of the CSTO Permanent Council was held. Before the discussion of the issues on agenda, Victor Biyagov, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the CSTO, delivered remarks.

This disinformation is absolutely false and is aimed at preparing grounds for expanding the geography of hostilities, including the aggression against the Republic of Armenia.

The Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh will give adequate military-political response to Azerbaijan’s consistent attempts to undermine regional security and peace.

And that strong resolve of the Armenian sides has no alternative, as it embodies The unshattered will of the Armenian people to live in their historical homeland.
