Karen Bekaryan: Thank you. My question is to the Foreign Minister, Mr. Mnatsakanyan. My congratulations, Mr. Mnatsakanyan. My question is the following: there was an information that already in June there will be Co-chairs’ visit to the region, including to Yerevan. At least it was confirmed by them. What I would like to know, within the possible limits, is whether do we already have clarity with regards our positions? Do we continue to adhere to our previous positions or do we have any changes? This is the first component of the question. The second one concerns the previously reached agreements both on our part and, as much as we know, on the Azerbaijani part. Thank you.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan: Thank you for your question. Yes, we are looking forward to re-engaging into the dialogue with the Co-chairs. It is of crucial importance for us to maintain the dynamics of the process, because it is based on the commitment to continue the peace process exclusively through negotiations and only within the framework of the Minsk group Co-chairmanship. This was stated both by the Prime Minister, and on various occasions by us. It is very essential for us to maintain that dynamics. We have agreed, that we will have that opportunity in the nearest future to meet and to revive the whole process. We have had a chance to talk with the Co-chairs, we are already in contact with them, we have had a phone call with them. They have briefed us on their meeting with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan. We plan to restore the process in June.

With regards to our position, as I mentioned, the continuity of our position was also confirmed. I can reaffirm, that it is based on the primary and the most important principle of ensuring the continuation of peace process exclusively through negotiations, within the framework of the Minsk Group Co-chairmanship. In this regard we highlight the maintaining of the atmosphere, in order not to have any development, which would negatively impact the negotiations and the atmosphere, not to have any situation, which may lead to escalation: be it an escalation on the ground or on any diplomatic platform it will further complicate the process. We urge to avoid such situations and to restore in a regular manner the negotiation process. Thank you.

Karen Bekaryan: Thank you very much, Mr. Mnatsakanyan. And the second part of the question. In the last days there has been a significant increase in the activity - the visit of the president of Azerbaijan to Nakhijevan, meetings and discussions in Nakhijevan accompanied, as usual, with negative rhetoric. You yourself with the Defense Minister of Armenia had a chance to visit that part of the border. Do we notice there anything extraordinary in the process, or should that all be perceived as a part of common constantly employed rhetoric of Azerbaijan?

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan: Thank you for the question. Indeed, our visit was intended, we could say, to prevent and convey a message that we remain vigilant and it is extremely important for us to prevent any development, which may have a negative impact on the negotiation process. I hope, we will not have any other development. As I said we pay great attention to this goal also, that is to exclude any such development, any escalation. This will not have any positive impact on the negotiations.
