On September 10, 2007, Minister Oskanian received Baroness Caroline Cox, Deputy Speaker of the British House of Lords, accompanied by House of Lords member David Alton. They had recently observed the inauguration of the newly-elected President Bako Sahakyan on September 7.

Minister Oskanian expressed appreciation for the Baroness’s great efforts in support of Nagorno Karabakh and the process of international recognition. He spoke about Armenia’s foreign policy priorities as well as the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process.

Upon the request of the guests, Minister Oskanian briefly presented the current situation in Armenia-Turkey relations. The Minister also spoke about the ministry’s approach to the issue of Genocide recognition.
