The newly appointed UN Permanent Representative presents the copies of her credentials to Foreign Minister of Armenia
21 January, 2010On Januray 21, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received Dafina Gercheva, the newly appointed Permanent Coordinator of UN in Armenia and Permanent Representative of United Nations Development Program on the occasion of presenting the copies of her credentials.
Minister Nalbandian congratulated Dafina Gercheva on her appointment as UN Permanent Coordinator in Armenia. Armenian Foreign Minister mentioned that effective cooperation is established between the Government of Armenia and the UN Offices and expressed hope that the newly appointed Permanent Coordinator will have her important contribution in the enhancement of UN’s activity in Armenia.
Foreign Minister of Armenia also highly appreciated the activity of UN Office in Yerevan and expressed Foreign Ministry’s support for the projects which are being implemented within United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for 2010-2015.
Dafina Gercheva reaffirmed that during her term in office she will make efforts for increasing UN involvement in Armenia, as well as the implementation of projects, and stressed that positive experience gained during cooperation between UN Offices in Yerevan and the authorities can be used in other countries.
