The Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Slovenia

 On October 11, the Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister met with his Slovenian counterpart Samuel Zbogar who arrived in Yerevan with the delegation accompanying President of the Republic of Slovenia Danilo Türk.

Welcoming the guest, the Armenian Foreign Minister said,”The first visit of the Slovenian President to Armenia in the history of bilateral relations will give a new impulse to the cooperation between the two countries and the agreements signed today, as well as the representative Armenian-Slovenian business forum that should take place in the frameworks of the Slovenian President’s visit, are the first steps of a new phase of interaction”.

The Ministers continued the New-York discussions held in the late of September over the issues of the Armenian-Slovenian agenda. They also exchanged views on regional problems.

Edward Nalbandian and Samuel Zbogar touched upon the relations between Armenia and the EU, as well as the projects implemented in that format and the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of member-countries of the Eastern Partnership that should take place at the end of year.

The Foreign Affairs Ministers of Armenia and Slovenia expressed satisfaction with the cultural exchanges that have been activated recently, particularly the Armenian cultural festival held in Slovenia at the beginning of the year. The two stressed the importance of regular organization of similar events.

Ahead of the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of two countries had opened the Armenian-Slovenian business forum hosing over 50 Slovenian entrepreneurs that arrived in Yerevan to participate in the forum.
