Edward Nalbandian attended the meeting of the CSTO’s Ministerial Council

On May 31, the Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Edward Nalbandian attended the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Minsk.

The meeting of the Ministerial Council started in narrow format, and then was continued with the participation of the delegations.

In the course of the meeting, the Foreign Affairs Ministers discussed the activities that are being implemented for the coordination of foreign policy between the member-states of the CSTO, as well as other issues related to the activities of the CSTO and its cooperation with international and regional organizations.

The Foreign Ministers of the CSTO discussed the process of the implementation of the Collective Security Council’s decisions made in December 2010, touched upon the international developments, as well as the activities of coordination mechanisms that function in the frames of the CSTO.

Issues related to the activities of CSTO’s peacekeeping forces and project draft on holding consultations between the CSTO’s member-states on foreign policy, security and defense issues were on the Ministerial Council’s agenda, as well.

After the meeting of the Ministerial Council, the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO member-states were received by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
