On June 13, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian received Thomas O. Melia, the U. S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian stressed that the frequent reciprocal visits between Armenia and the Untied States, the wide range of issues that are being discussed and their substance are a proof of the established warm and partnership relations between the two countries.

Edward Nalbandian and Thomas O. Melia touched upon the efforts undertaken by the Armenian authorities towards the strengthening of democracy, the positive progress made in that direction and further steps.

The sides discussed also a number of international and regional issues of mutual interests.
