Minister of Foreign Affairs received James Appathurai, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia

On June 28, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs received James Appathurai, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated James Appathurai on the occasion of assuming the post of the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative in the Caucasus region, expressing hope that Mr. Appathurai will have his contribution to the development of the cooperation between Armenia and the NATO.

In the course of the meeting, the sides touched upon a number of issues related to the interaction between Armenia and the North-Atlantic Alliance, particularly the cooperation implemented in the frames of the Partnership for Peace, Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council and Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP).

Edward Nalbandian and James Appathurai discussed the preparatory works of the upcoming session of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) in 28+1 format during which the annual results of the implementation of the IPAP will be discussed and summarized.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the recent developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, particularly the results of the Kazan Summit.
