On September 16, the Permanent Representatives of Armenia and Honduras to the United Nations Garen Nazarian and Mary E. Flores signed the Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Honduras.

During a conversation that followed the signing ceremony, the two discussed opportunities for development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Honduras. They specifically mentioned that there are sufficient prerequisites for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of education, culture, as well as tourism.
