The RA Minister of Foreign Affairs received the Vice-President of the European Parliament

On September 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian received Libor Rouček, the Vice-President of the European Parliament, who arrived in Yerevan to participate in the events dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with the progressive relations between Armenia and the EU, noting that the parliamentary format of the cooperation has its serious contribution to it.

Congratulating Mr. Edward Nalbandian on the occasion of 20th Anniversary of Armenia, Mr. Libor Rouček underlined that during the years of the independence Armenia’s relations with both the European Union and the EU member-countries considerably developed and have a great potential for expansion.

Mr. Libor Rouček and Mr. Edward Nalbandian touched upon the inter-parliamentary contacts, particularly stressing the importance of the activities of European Parliament’s parliamentary group of the cooperation with the countries in the South Caucasus.

The sides touched upon issues related to the activities of EuroNest - the parliamentary platform for the cooperation between the EU countries and Eastern neighbors in the frames of the Eastern Partnership.

The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs presented to the Vice-President of the European Parliament the recent developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
