Edward Nalbandian received Gunnar Wiegand, the EU Chief Negotiator in the negotiations over the Association Agreement between Armenia and the EU

On September 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward NalbandIian received the delegation led by Gunnar Wiegand, the EU Chief Negotiator in the negotiations over the Association Agreement between Armenia and the EU.

In the course of the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon a number of issues related to the relations between Armenia and the EU, simultaneously highly assessing the progress achieved in bilateral interaction.

The sides discussed the current stage of the negotiations over the Association Agreement, as well as summed up the results reached since 2010 to present. In that regard, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian and Mr. Gunnar Wiegand noted that due to consistent efforts of Armenia progress in the negotiations over the Association Agreement has been achieved.

Mr. Edward Nalbandian and Mr. Gunnar Wiegand discussed the activities implemented in different formats of the cooperation and outlined the steps to be undertaken. They exchanged views on launching of the negotiations over the visa regime facilitation, as well as the preparatory works for starting of the negotiations over the creation of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Zone.
