The Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian received the delegation led by Aso Tavitian, the President of the “Tavitian Foundation”

Today, Mr. Edward Nalbandian received the delegation led by Mr. Aso Tavitian, the President of the “Tavitian Foundation”. The delegation included Mr. Stephen W. Bosworth, the Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, representatives of the Fletcher School academic staff and Dr. Joyce Barsam, the Vice President of the “Tavitian Foundation”.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian congratulated Mr. Aso Tavitian on the occasion of being awarded with “Moses Khorenatsi” medal by the President of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Serzh Sargsyan and expressed gratitude to him for the training of young diplomats at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy by the support of the “Tavitian Foundation”.

Minister Nalbandian expressed satisfaction that in accordance with the agreements reached between the RA MFA, “Tavitian Foundation” and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the fifteen diplomats of the RA MFA are currently trained in the Fletcher School. Mr. Edward Nalbandian expressed hope that this cooperation would be permanent, mentioning that in that eminent educational center the Armenian diplomats receive not only valuable knowledge, but also establish contacts with their colleagues from different countries around the world. He said that the permanent support provided by the “Tavitian Foundation” to the MFA also embodies the fact that the library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is called by the name of Mr. Aso Tavitian.

Thanking Mr. Edward Nalbandian for the high assessment of the "Tavitian Foundation’s” activities, Mr. Aso Tavitian assured that the Foundation would continue the educational programs and the cooperation with the MFA.

In the course of the tour at the Diplomatic School, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nalbandian presented the guests the activities and structure of the MFA’s Diplomatic School. The guests noted that they were impressed by the activities of the Diplomatic School and by the success achieved during a short period.
