The newly appointed Ambassador of the USA presented the copies of his credentials to the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs

On October 17, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian received John A. Heffern, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States to Armenia on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador of the United States, Minister Nalbandian wished him success, expressing hope that by his activities the Ambassador would contribute to the further development and deepening of the Armenian-American friendly partnership which has recently been raised to a qualitatively new level by joint efforts.

Expressing gratitude for the whishes, Ambassador Heffern mentioned that the administration of the United States attaches importance to the development of comprehensive interaction with Armenia and assured that he would do his utmost for the further strengthening of bilateral relations.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Heffern talked about numerous issues related to the Armenian-American relations, including the projects that are implemented by the US government directed to the development of Armenia.

The sides exchanged views on the regional issues. In that context the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs highly assessed the positive involvement of the United States as OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
