The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs received the Vice President of the EBRD

On November 3, the Minister of Foreign Affair Edward Nalbandian received the Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jan Fischer who arrived in Yerevan to define the priorities of the EBRD in elaborating the new strategy for Armenia.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister of Foreign Affairs highly assessed the two years’ of effective cooperation established between Armenia and the EBRD, noting that the role of the EBRD is valuable in the context of the activities directed at the improvement of Armenia’s economic, as well as business environment.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, the EBRD’s Vice President mentioned that by the support of the EBRD over 100 projects totaling USD 600 million were conducted in Armenia in the spheres of bank system, small and medium enterprises, agriculture and reprocessing industry, renewable energy and infrastructures.

According to Jan Fischer those projects were striking for their effectiveness, and the EBRD would continue to provide its support to the development of Armenia’s economy.

During the talk, the sides stressed the importance of the maintenance of the consistent implementation of the cooperation between the Government of Armenia and EBRD, the steps to be undertaken towards the further raising of the effectiveness of that interaction.

Upon the request of the guests, Minister Nalbandian presented Armenia’s approaches to the regional issues and the ways of their solution.
