The meeting of the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia

On November 7, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian met with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze who arrived in Yerevan on a working visit.

Welcoming the Georgian Foreign Minister, Edward Nalbandian positively assessed the intensified and regular political dialogue and mentioned that it serves as a solid basis for the development of mutually beneficial relations.

In the course of the talks, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of the Armenian-Georgian agenda, and the implementation of the agreements reached between the Presidents of the two countries.

The Ministers touched upon the timetable of upcoming reciprocal visits, the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Comission to be held on 18-19 November, and the issues related to the Armenia-Georgian political, economic, energy and cultural relations, the legal field and the issues of Armenian-Georgian Diaspora.

During the meeting the two Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of the development of cooperation in inter-parliamentary, interagency and decentralized formats.

Ministers Nalbandian and Vashadze exchanged views on the recent developments in the Middle East.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries discussed the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. In this regard, it was underlined that the issue should be settled based on the principles of the international law and through peaceful negotiations.
