The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs met with his Egyptian and Serbian counterparts

On February 4th the following meeting of Edward Nalbandian in Munich was with his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Kamal Amr.

Minister Nalbandian expressed condolences for the victims of clashes that erupted between football fans in the Port Said city of Egypt recently.

The Ministers mutually stressed the traditional friendly nature of the Armenian-Egyptian centuries-old relations and touched upon the issues related to their development, the promotion of economic cooperation, the intensification of cultural exchanges, the expansion of legal framework and the cooperation in the international organizations.

Edward Nalbandian underlined that Armenia always has good and solid relations with Egypt and Arab world and continues to undertake steps towards their further strengthening.

During the talks over the expansion of economic cooperation, the Ministers noted that the direct flights between the two countries would contribute to the promotion of economic ties and tourism. The sides agreed to explore the possibilities of launching direct flight between Armenia and Egypt.

Minister Amr presented the developments being held in Egypt, as well as the steps being undertaken by the transitional government towards the maintaining of security in the country. In this regard, Minister Nalbandian said; ‘The current transitional phase is just one episode in the centuries-long history of Egypt and definitely the Egyptian people will overcome all difficulties, as they did several times in history.’

The Munich agenda of Minister Nalbandian included a meeting with Vuk Jeremić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.

During the meeting the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Serbia touched upon the issues related to the partnership in the international organizations.
