The interaction between Armenia and the European Union was discussed

Today Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a working lunch with the Ambassadors of the EU member countries accredited in Yerevan and the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

During the talk they exchanged views on the relations between Armenia and the EU and touched upon the preparatory works of the upcoming visit of the Armenian President to Brussels.

Referring to the document on the South Caucasus adopted by the Council of European Union recently, Edward Nalbandian noted that it stressed the similarities between the positions of Armenia and the EU on a number of issues, particularly the main agenda issues of Armenia-EU relations, including the Association agreement, the progress concerning the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, the visa regime facilitation and readmission agreements, the positive and effective implementation of the reforms in Armenia and the continuing support of the EU to them.

Talking about the Nagorno-Karabakh section of the document adopted by the Council of the EU, Edward Nalbandian noted, “In this case we can note about the similarity of the approaches of Armenia and the EU –the support provided to the efforts undertaken by the Minsk Group and the full implementation of the elements in the Statement made by the Presidents of Russia, the United States and France in the frameworks of the G8 Summits in Deauville on May 26 of 2011 and the Joint Statement made by the Presidents of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on January 23 of 2012 in Sochi.”
