The meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Belarus

On April 16 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Martynov who arrived in Yerevan on an official visit.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian mentioned that due to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries the Armenian-Belarusian relations had considerably been developed in various spheres in the recent years. Minister Nalbandian stressed all existing preconditions for the further strengthening of bilateral relation, and expressed confidence that the sides would exert additional efforts in that direction.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation to visit Yerevan, Minister Martynov, in his part, expressed satisfaction with the high-level of bilateral relations and dynamically developing cooperation.

The sides mutually highlighted that the high-level political dialogue, reciprocal visits, parliamentary ties, decentralized cooperation, economic interaction and cultural exchanges give an opportunity for the further deepening of the friendship between the two peoples.

The Ministers touched upon the implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the assignments presented by them.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Belarus discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues.

Edward Nalbandian and Sergei Martynov touched upon the bilateral trade and economic interaction, the possibilities of its diversification and the works of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Belarus discussed the steps to be undertaken towards further intensification of cultural exchanges, as well.

Upon the request of Sergei Martynov, Edward Nalbandian presented the recent developments in the negotiations over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

After the meeting, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Belarus gave a joint press conference.
