The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs received the Special Envoy of Australian Prime Minister

On June 25 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Russell Trood, the Australian Prime Minister's Special Envoy to Eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Caucasus.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia stresses the importance to develop cooperation with Australia and is ready to take efficient steps in that direction. The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted that recently the meetings at the level of foreign ministers have become regular, and the visit of the Prime Minister's Special Envoy is one more opportunity to discuss the ways to expand interaction and exchange views on various issues of the international agenda.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Russell Trood said that his visit is a reflection of Australian authorities’ interest to deepen relations with Armenia. The Australian Prime Minister's Special Envoy stressed the regularity of political dialogue at the highest level, as well.

The interlocutors discussed the possibilities to enlarge cooperation within the international organizations, as well as touched upon the international agenda issues.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues relating to the South Caucasus region, as well.

Russell Trood conveyed to the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs his counterpart’s invitation to visit Canberra.
