On July 18 the Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Reiner Morell, the newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Armenia, on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating the guest on the commencement of his diplomatic mission, Minister Nalbandian expressed appreciation with the dynamic development of the Armenian-German political dialogue and cooperation in various fields and with the high level visits between the two states. Minister Nalbandian expressed confidence that Ambassador Morell will have his contribution to the strengthening and enlargement of Armenian-German partnership.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Ambassador Morell highly appreciated the established cooperation between Armenia and Germany and assured that he will make efforts for the development of bilateral relations.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Morell discussed the perspectives of enlargement of cooperation in political, economic, cultural and educational fields.

The sides touched upon the cooperation between Armenia and the European Union in the framework of Eastern partnership initiative.

During the meeting the service of Armenian peacekeepers within the German brigade in Afghanistan was mentioned with satisfaction as an important part of the bilateral cooperation.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Morell discussed also other regional issues of mutual interest.
