Edward Nalbandian received Vepa Hadjiyev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On September 5 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Vepa Hadjiyev, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian underscored that this year it is celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan. Edward Nalbandian highly assessed the multilateral cooperation established between Armenia and Turkmenistan since the independence, as well as expressed an opinion that high-level reciprocal visits and regular political consultations bring a considerable contribution to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations.

Deputy Minister Hadjiyev expressed gratitude for the reception and mentioned that the Turkmen side stresses the importance of strengthening friendly relations with Armenia and upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Armenia would be another proof of that.

The interlocutors discussed the issues related to the holding of the 4th session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Armenia and Turkmenistan, intensification of economic cooperation, implementation of joint projects in the spheres of energy and transport, cooperation in international organizations and expansion of legal framework between the two countries.
