The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa presented the copies of his credentials to the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs

On September 10 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Chupu Stanley Mathabatha, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa (residence in Kiev) on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Welcoming the guest and congratulating on the appointment, Minister Nalbandian assured that Ambassador’s activities would provide a new impetus to bilateral relations. Minister Nalbandian added also, that the Armenian side stresses the importance to develop relations with leading African countries, including the Republic of South Africa.

Ambassador Mathabatha expressed gratitude for the reception and presented confidence that he would spare no efforts to develop and expand the relations between the two countries.

The interlocutors touched upon the issues related to the intensification of political dialogue, creation of legal framework, and cooperation in economy, technical and educational and scientific spheres. In this context, the cooperation and professional exchange in the frames of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the RA Ministry of Economy and the Government of Northern Cape Province of South Africa in the sphere of diamond jewelry was underlined.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on regional and global issues.
