The meetings of the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Foreign Ministers of Latin America

Edward Nalbandian who is in New York on a working visit, on September 28 had meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Mexico, Cuba and Guatemala.

The meeting of Edward Nalbandian with Mexican Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa was dedicated to the promotion of bilateral relations. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries had a thorough talk on the scheduled steps for the development of cooperation, in particular the strengthening of legal framework, intensification of political dialogue and development of inter-parliamentary ties. The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs informed his Mexican counterpart about the Armenia’s willingness to open an embassy to Mexico next year.

Edward Nalbandian presented his Mexican counterpart the steps undertaken towards the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue by Armenia and international community.

The next meeting of Edward Nalbandian was with Guatemalan Foreign Minister Harold Caballeros. The interlocutors, stressing the mutual commitment to develop relations, touched upon the establishment of the cooperation between the MFAs of the two countries, and discussed the possibilities to cooperate in the spheres of culture and education. For continuing the launched dialogue, Harold Caballeros invited his Armenian counterpart to pay a visit to Guatemala.

During the meeting between Edward Nalbandian and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, the two touched upon the steps to be undertaken towards the development of bilateral relations, as well as exchanged views on regional issues.
