The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs received Swiss deputies

05 October, 2012

On October 5 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the
“Switzerland-Armenia" Parliamentary Friendship Group delegation from
the Swiss Lower House of Parliament led by Co-Chairmen Ueli Leuenberger and Dominique de Buman.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian expressed satisfaction with the
naturally developed high-level political dialogue through both reciprocal
visits and regular contacts in various international platforms during
those twenty years since the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Armenia and Switzerland.

Minister Nalbandian welcomed the visit of the Swiss MPs to Artsakh,
mentioning that similar visits are an opportunity to learn about the
Nagorno-Karabakh issue and the current situation from the first hand.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Swiss MPs assured that they would
continue their activities directed towards the further strengthening and
deepening of the Armenian-Swiss interaction.

Minister Nalbandian specially stressed the importance of parliamentary
diplomacy and in particular the activities carried out by the Friendship
Group as an important element in the development of the relations between
the two countries.

The sides touched upon international and regional issues, as well.
