The meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia

11 February, 2013

On February 11 Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian started his visit to Georgia.

On the same day Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Maia Panjikidze. The sides continued the talks started a month earlier in Yerevan over the strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations.

During the meeting held in a warm atmosphere which is peculiar to the Armenian-Georgian relations, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Georgia had a thorough talk on the implementation of the agreements reached in the course of the Yerevan meeting between the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Bidzina Ivanishvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, including the talks between the Prime Ministers of the two countries held this January.

The Foreign Ministers touched upon the Armenian-Georgian agenda issues and the joint efforts undertaken towards their solution. As an effective format for political dialogue, Edward Nalbandian and Maia Panjikidze stressed the importance to keep the tradition of regular meetings between the Foreign Ministers of the two countries which has been developed in the recent years.
