By the reception at MFA the Francophonie month in Armenia commences

On March 19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a traditional reception on the occasion of the day of Francophonie at which were present the Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, MPs, heads of municipalities, Ambassadors of the member countries of the International Organization of Francophonie, accredited in the Republic of Armenia, leaders of French Institutions in Armenia, representatives of the educational sector.

In his welcoming speech, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said. "Today we are celebrating Armenia's membership in the International Organization of Francophonie, which is a new platform for our country in political, economic, trade and cultural interaction with those Francophone countries located in the five continents of the world.

As every year, the start of the Month of Francophonie in Armenia is an opportunity to celebrate the International Day of Francophonie marked on March 20 together with the 77 members and observer countries of the International Organization of Francophonie as well as to organize many other events throughout the whole territory of Armenia.”

The Foreign Minister noted that the concert of popular Francophone singer Hélène Ségara held on March 19, at the A. Khachaturian Philharmonic Hall, will mark the start of more than 350 cultural, educational and university events organized in Yerevan and other regions of Armenia. Minister Nalbandian highlighted the role of the French Embassy in Armenia, and Ambassador Henri Reynaud personally in the process of organizing and holding of the events.
