Edward Nalbandian visited the Diplomatic Academy of Russia and the Institute of International Relations

Foreign Minister met with the ambassadors concurrently accredited in Armenia

On April 26, being in Moscow on an official visit, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian visited the Diplomatic Academy, where he had an extensive speech on Armenia's foreign policy in the presence of accredited ambassadors in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry officials, faculty and students of the Academy.

After the speech, Edward Nalbandian answered to many questions concerning Armenian-Russian cooperation and Armenia’s relations with neighbouring countries as well as foreign policy issues concerning European, American, Asian, Arab directions and many other areas.

Before the speech Edward Nalbandian met Evgeniy Bazhanov, the Rector of the Diplomatic Academy.

During the meeting, Minister Nalbandian expressed gratitude to the Academy for preparing diplomats for already twenty years, noting that many of the graduates of the Diplomatic Academy have become Ambassadors and represent Armenia in various countries.

Edward Nalbandian and Evgeniy Bazhanov reached an agreement to establish closer cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies of Armenia’s and Russia’s Foreign Ministries.

On the same day, in the Armenian Embassy in Moscow, Foreign Minister of Armenia met Ambassadors from nearly 3 dozen countries concurrently accredited in Armenia to whom he presented the main directions and priorities of Armenia's foreign policy.

The Minister presented the steps directed towards regional security maintenance in the South Caucasus and answered numerous questions of heads of the diplomatic missions.

In the afternoon, Edward Nalbandian visited Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), where he discussed issues concerning the cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy and MGIMO with Anatoly Torkunov, rector of MGIMO.

Foreign Minister and the rector of the University attended the presentation of the Armenian Alumni Club. Welcoming the initiative of the club foundation, Edward Nalbandian expressed gratitude to the initiative group and attached importance to the creation of such a structure, which will unite the MGIMO Armenian alumni graduated in different years. The Minister also expressed hope that the structure will contribute to the strengthening of the Armenian-Russian ties.

In Moscow Edward Nalbandian visited the "Interfax" news agency, where he met with well-known Russian media leaders.

On the same evening, ending the visit Minister Nalbandian returned to Yerevan.
