On May 6 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Christer Mikkelson (residence in Helsinki), the newly appointed Ambassador of Finland in Armenia, who was presenting the copies of credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador for the appointment, Edward Nalbandian wished him good luck and expressed hope that by his activities he will contribute to the development of Armenian-Finnish cooperation in different areas.

Minister added that Armenia is interested in developing a political dialogue with Finland through high-level mutual visits, consultations between the Foreign Ministries, parliamentary diplomacy. The activation of economic cooperation was underlines, as well as the need of the expansion of the legal framework.

Expressing gratitude for the reception Ambassador Mikkelson noted that Finland attaches importance to the development of the comprehensive cooperation with Armenia in the framework of the Eastern Partnership of European Union.

During the meeting the sides referred to many regional and international issues.
