Edward Nalbandian met the French Members of the Senate and National Assembly

Foreign Minister of Armenia had a speech at the French Institute of International Relations

On May 14 Edward Nalbandian visited the French Senate where he met Jean Louis Carrere, the President of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee.

During the meeting the upcoming steps directed to the further strengthening of Armenian-French friendly relations were discussed in which the role of Armenian and French Parliaments was emphasized.

Many regional and international issues were discussed. Edward Nalbandian presented Armenia’s outlook concerning the resolution of the regional conflicts in the South Caucasus.

On the same day at the warm meeting with the members of the Armenian-French inter-parliamentary friendship groups, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian greatly appreciated the French parliamentarians’ initiatives and contribution to the development of Armenian-French traditional friendly relations.

The members of the Senate and National Assembly who represented different parties, assured that they will continue making efforts to further expand the cooperation between Armenia and France.

In the second half of the day Edward Nalbandian delivered an extensive speech on foreign policy priorities at the French Institute of International Relations, which was attended by ambassadors accredited in Paris, officials from the French Foreign Ministry and other government agencies, renowned experts and journalists, representatives of major French companies.

Minister Nalbandian presented the Armenian-French relations, Armenia-European Union cooperation, priorities of Armenia’s presidency in the Council of Europe, as well as Armenia’s approaches to a number of international and regional issues.

After the speech Armenian Foreign Minister answered numerous questions.

In the evening Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with the representatives of leading media, eminent experts and analysts. A detailed discussion was held concerning the current issues in international relations.
