Foreign Minister Of Armenia Took Part In The Meeting Of The Foreign Ministers Of The Countries Of Eastern Partnership And Member-Countries Of Visegrad Four

On May 17 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian took part in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries and member-countries of Visegrad Four which was held in Krakow and which was attended by Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for common Foreign and Security policy, as well as by Foreign Ministers of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, and Ireland’s Minister of European Affairs, which is assuming the presidency of European Union.

The results of the cooperation in the framework of Eastern partnership were discussed at the meeting. The sides also referred to the implementation of the road map of the Eastern Partnership in detail and they also exchanged views concerning the upcoming steps towards the conference that will be held in Vilnius.

In that context the EU representatives highly appreciated the recorded progress in the negotiations with Armenia in their speeches.

Having a speech at the meeting, referring to the cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, the Minister said. "The Eastern Partnership has become an effective mechanism to strengthen our relations with the European Union, it has changed the quality and character of our relations with the EU. The agenda of our partnership is comprehensive. It includes issues related to political dialogue, human rights, institutional reforms, economy, justice, mobility, migration flows. "

In his speech the Minister presented in details the results of the negotiations, being in the final stage, which referred to the Association Agreement and the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU.

Concluding his address Armenian Foreign Minister noted that Armenia has recorded a good progress in all the main areas of the implementation of Eastern Partnership road map.
