The newly appointed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates presented the copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia

On May 23 Edward Nalbandian met the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Saif Mohammed Al-Zaabi(residence in Tehran) on presenting the copy of the latter's credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment Minister Nalbandian expressed hope that the Ambassador will have his important contribution in the further development of cooperation between Armenia and United Arab Emirates. Minister Nalbandian also noted that Armenia highly appreciates the established relations between the two nations and states. As well he expressed readiness to support the Ambassador in his mission directed towards the further strengthening and expansion of the developments.

Expressing gratitude for the reception Ambassador Al-Zaabi noted that United Arab Emirates attaches importance to the development of relations with Armenia and assured that he will make best efforts in that direction.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Al-Zaabi discussed the upcoming steps towards the activation of political dialogue, expansion of the legal framework.

The sides noted that there is great potential in the area of the development of Armenian-Emirates trade and economic relations, for the usage of which we need to have bilateral active steps. In this context the establishment of inter-governmental commission was underlined.

During the meeting the sides attached importance to the necessity of opening an Embassy of United Arab Emirates in Yerevan.
