Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Moldova

On July 12 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Natalia German in Kishinev.

During the meeting the sides discussed measures in the direction of the implementation of arrangements which were made during the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Moldova as well as with the Prime Minister of Moldova which will give a new impetus to the Armenian-Moldovan cooperation.

The Ministers also referred to the questions of expanding the legal framework between the two states, development of the cooperation in the framework of international organizations, organizing consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, intensifying the trade and economic ties, increase of the cultural and educational exchanges.

Ministers Nalbandian and German also visited the Armenian church of Kishnev where they met with the representatives of the Armenian community of Moldova. Minister Nalbandian expressed his gratitude to the authorities of Moldova for the considerate attitude towards the Armenian community.

Minister German highly appreciated the role of the Armenian community of Moldova which has existed there for centuries. The representatives of the Armenian community presented their issues to the Ministers and exchanged ideas on the ways of solving them.

Minister Nalbandian invited his Moldovan counterpart to visit Armenia.
