On September 14 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met with Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth.

The sides discussed perspectives of the cooperation in the fields of education, culture and youth between Armenian and the European Union. They stressed the importance of the contacts between the youth and pointed out that the coming into force of the Agreement on Readmission and Visa facilitation will have a huge contribution to that issue.

Minister Nalbandian underlined that Armenia has established close relations with European countries in educational and cultural areas during the recent years and the programs implemented by the EU in this field provide an opportunity for the harmonization of educational standards, cultural dialogue and youth exchanges.

Commissioner Vassiliou said that the European Union looks forward to intensify relations with the Eastern Partners in the above mentioned areas.
