Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Poland

On September 17 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian who paid a working visit to Warsaw met Radoslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

The Ministers discussed the ways of further development of Armenia-EU relations.

In this respect Minister Nalbandian stated that Armenia intends to continue the comprehensive cooperation with the EU in all possible directions.

The Minister emphasized: “Since the beginning of the launch of the Eastern Partnership, even before that Armenia has reiterated and continues to say that we are ready to have as close, as wide-ranging relations with the EU, be as close to the EU as that would be possible for the EU, but not to the detriment and at the expense of our allied relations with Russia. Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union should be viewed in that context.”

Minister Nalbandian said that it is important to advance Armenia-EU relations based on the progress and results jointly achieved during the recent years.

Minister Nalbandian also informed his Polish counterpart about the efforts for the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
