Vahan Bayburdyan was awarded with the MFA Commemorative Medal

On October 5 Minister of Foreign Affairs awarded Professor Vahan Bayburdyan, the first Ambassador of Armenia to Iran, a renowned orientalist and historian, with the Commemorative medal of the MFA on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Congratulating the honored diplomat and highly appreciating his half-century experience in diplomacy, science and teaching, Minister Nalbandian stated: “You continue to use Your experience and knowledge which has been achieved during many years, to the benefit of Armenia by teaching high level specialists in the areas of International Relations and Oriental Studies. As the first Ambassador of Armenia to Iran, You have made an important contribution to developing and enhancing Armenian-Iranian friendly relations”.

Expressing gratitude for the highlighting his work and for the award Vahan Bayburdyan stated that he will continue his contribution to the development of science in Armenia and training of future diplomats for the diplomatic service of Armenia.
