Minister of Foreign Affairs visited UN Office in Armenia

On October 18th Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian visited the UN Office in Armenia where he opened the renovated hall together with the UN Resident Coordinator Bradley Busetto.

After the opening ceremony of the hall the Foreign Minister had a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator and the Heads of representations of the UN agencies and programs who touched upon the implemented programs of their institutions in Armenia during the last twenty years and presented the ongoing projects.

Minister Nalbandian stating that Armenia is one of the active members of the UN and every year expands its involvement in processes and cooperation in the framework of the Organization, highly appreciated the support of the UNDP as well as other UN agencies to the development of our country since the independence.

Upon the request of the participants of the meeting Foreign Minister Nalbandian touched upon the results of his last meeting with the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon in the framework of the recent visit to New York.

During the conversation an exchange of thoughts took place concerning the possible participation of the UN in the supporting initiatives for the Syrian Armenians.

The Foreign Minister also answered the questions of the participants.
