Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received Fadel Muhammad Javad, the Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League

On October 21 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met Fadel Muhammad Javad, the Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League who is in Yerevan to participate in the High-Level Conference on Combating Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Europe.

Greeting the guest Minister Nalbandian noted that Arabic countries became a second home for many Armenians who survived the Genocide and that Armenian communities of those countries now are like a bridge between those countries and Armenia. The Minister added that Armenia attaches great priority to the development and enhancement of traditional friendly relations with the Arab world and in this respect he highlighted the presence of Armenia in the League of Arab States with an observer status.

Expressing gratitude for the reception the Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League stated with confidence that Armenian-Arabic friendship is based on good traditions and is deepening every year. In its turn the League of Arab States is interested in making additional efforts in this direction.

The sides had also an exchange of views concerning the Middle Eastern developments and the steps undertaken for the resolution of the Syrian crisis.
