On October 22 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received the delegation of the Parliament of Latvia which was headed by the Deputy Speakers of the Saeima - Andrejs Klementjevs and Inese Libina-Egnere.

During the meeting, where Eduard Sharmazanov, the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia and the Head of Armenia-Latvia Inter-parliamentary friendship group, was present, Minister Nalbandian noted that quite a close cooperation is established between Armeniaand Latvia and the intensive visits on high political level are the evidence of this.

The Minister also added that the functioning of the friendship groups in the Parliaments of the two countries is very important for the bilateral partnership.

The Latvian Parliamentarians noted that the purpose of their visit to the Foreign Minister is to initiate joint steps for the further enhancement and development of the bilateral collaboration.

During the talk the sides had a detailed exchange of views concerning Armenia-EU relations. In this context the Latvian Parliamentarians welcomed the willingness of Armenia to continue the comprehensive cooperation with the EU and supported this approach.
