On October 22 Minister of Foreign Affairs received Dunja Mijatović, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, who is in Armenia to take part in the high-level conference “Combating racism, xenophobia and intolerance in Europe” organized in the framework of the Armenian Chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Greeting the guests, Minister Nalbandian pointed that during the recent years Armenia has achieved serious progress in the issues of the freedom of the media and the close partnership established with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media has also contributed to that success.

Expressing gratitude for the reception the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media underlined that she highly appreciates the intensive collaboration with Armenia.

She added that Armenia has passed a long way in the provision of freedom of speech and welcomed the measures undertaken by the Government in that area, also assuring that the expert support of her office would continue.

The sides had also an exchange of views concerning the process of digitalization of telecommunications in Armenia.

Dunja Mijatović also represented the activities and future programs of her office to Edward Nalbandian.
