Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia took part in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS

On October 24 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian participated in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS in Minsk.

The agenda of the Council included more than a dozen of questions concerning the documents to be presented for the discussion of the Heads of States of the CIS during upcoming CIS Summit on October 25.

The Foreign Ministers of CIS states approved the program according to which the year of 2015 is declared a Year of Veterans of The Great Patriotic War and ceremonies dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of the victory in The Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945 will be organized.

In the Council of the Ministers there was also discussion concerning the development of the cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of the CIS States. Particularly the participants discussed the project of the Agreement about establishing an interstate council on the struggle against corruption as well as the project of the interstate programs of joint measures of the CIS countries on countering the illegal circulation of drugs, trafficking and crime.

The Council of Foreign Ministers also approved the project of the Strategy of cooperation in tourism until 2020 where the essential directions and goals of the collaboration in tourism and mechanisms of creating Commonwealth common space are pointed out.

During the session the projects of decisions “On implementing the interstate program “The Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth” in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty) and in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan (Osh) in 2014” were discussed.
