On November 2 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met the participants of the meeting of the Senghor International Chairs of the Francophone (RISCF) headed by the Philippe Cantraine, Advisor of the Secretary General of OIF and Michel Guillou, the Chairman of the Senghor International Network of Chairs of the Francophone (RISCF).

Greeting the guests, Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia being a member of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) actively participates in the activities of different bodies of the OIF and the organisation of the conference “Prospects of the French Language and Teaching in French in the Central and Eastern European Region” in Yerevan is an evidence of this fact.

Expressing gratitude for the reception the participants of the meeting presented the results of the conference and the cooperation between the Senghor International Chairs. The guests also spoke of the activities of their educational institutions to the end of popularizing the francophone values.

During the meeting the participants discussed the collaboration in the framework of the OIF and questions concerning upcoming OIF Ministerial meeting next week.

In the framework of the Armenian Chairmanship in the Council of Europe the sides had an exchange of views concerning the partnership between the Council of Europe and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.

Parallel to the annual meeting the guests participated in the conference “Prospects of the French Language and Teaching in French in the Central and Eastern European Region” which was organized by the French University of Armenia.
