Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group

On December 4 a meeting between the Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammedyarov and the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group- Igor Popov, Jacques Faure, James Warlick as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk took place in Kiev.

After the tete a tete conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office joined them.

In the context of the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 19 in Vienna the Co-Chairs continued discussions with the Ministers towards furthering of the peace process as well as exchanged views on possible steps for the elimination of tensions in the area of conflict.

Ministers and the Co-Chairs agreed to continue further discussions on the peace process of the issue during the upcoming weeks. The Co-Chairs also informed about their intention to visit the region for that purpose.

Foreign Ministers underlining the importance of the OSCE Minsk Group Chairmanship as the negotiation format for the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, expressed gratitude for their consistent efforts towards the peaceful resolution.
