Minister of Foreign Affairs received the copies of credentials of the Ambassador of Italy to Armenia.

On December 10 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Giovanni Ricciulli, the newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to Armenia on the occasion of presenting the copies of credentials.

Welcoming the guest Minister Nalbandian said that Armenian-Italian relations have a history of millenniums with memorable expressions of mutual friendship and good traditions. He wished the Ambassador every success in implementing his diplomatic mission expressing hope that Ambassador by his work will contribute to expanding and deepening of Armenian-Italian friendly cooperation. The Minister added that the existing atmosphere of mutual trust between Armenia and Italy, which is based on historical contacts and common values, is a solid ground for new achievements.

Ambassador Ricciulli expressed gratitude for the reception and said he will make his best efforts for the development and enhancement of Armenian-Italian partnership.

During the meeting Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Ricciulli discussed questions concerning the organization of high-level visits, activation of inter-parliamentary contacts, expanding of legal framework, triggering trade and economic relations, further developments of educational and cultural cooperation. The sides also touched upon Armenia-EU relations.

Edward Nalbandian briefed on the recent developments in Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process and the efforts of Armenia and the international society towards the regulation of the issue.
