Foreign Minister received the delegation of the Communist Party of China

On February 14 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the delegation of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China headed by Zhou Li, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC.

Greeting the delegation Minister Nalbandian stated with confidence that according to the arrangements made between the Heads of State of the two countries Armenian-Chinese cooperation is expanding and enhancing every year due to common efforts.

Expressing gratitude for the reception  Head of the Delegation of CPC conveyed greetings and the best wishes of the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Edward Nalbandian and stressed that the goal of CPC delegation visit is the further deepening of interstate and inter-party active cooperation.

Edward Nalbandian and Zhou Li stated that the positions of the two countries coincide with each other or are very similar concerning most international issues and the high level political dialogue also contributes to this. Zhou Li noted that China highly appreciates the Armenian position of “One China”.

Minister Nalbandian presented to the guests the Armenian approaches on a number of issues of regional agenda. In this context Zhou Li emphasized that China supports the efforts of Armenia towards the peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

During the conversation the sides discussed a number of questions concerning the enhancement of Armenian-Chinese cooperation in the framework of the international organizations, decentralized partnership, deepening trade and economic ties, educational, scientific and cultural ties.

Minister Nalbandian expressed appreciation for the technical assistance from China since the independence of Armenia.

In the context of educational partnership the sides stressed the importance of the establishment of a Chinese school in Armenia as well as study of Armenian and Chinese students in the universities of the two countries. They particularly underlined the intensive activities of Confucius Institute in Armenia.

Edward Nalbandian asked to convey his greetings to his Chinese counterpart Minister Wang Yi.
