Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia met the President of the Swiss Confederation

On March 6 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian who is on a working visit in Geneva met Didier Burkhalter, President of the Swiss Confederation, Foreign Minister of Switzerland and the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE.

Armenian Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and the written address of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan to Didier Burkhalter.

The sides expressed satisfaction for the high-level Armenian-Swiss political dialogue, dynamics of the development of comprehensive partnership and discussed questions concerning expanding and deepening relations. They especially underlined the importance of common efforts for triggering trade and economic relations.

President of Switzerland and Foreign Minister of Armenia had a detailed exchange of thoughts concerning the OSCE agenda issues and the initiatives of the Swiss Chairmanship.

Minister Nalbandian presented to President Burkhalter the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group towards the peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue. In this context Didier Burkhalter reaffirmed his support to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship activities.

During the meeting the sides also touched upon the scheduled visit of Didier Burkhalter to Armenia in June this year and exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues.
